Music in The Garden - October 3rd 2026
Join Rooted In Community CDC for Music in the Garden on October 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. Bring the family, bring your own bag chair, and settle in for a relaxing evening with good music, including jazz and house from our live DJ. We'll have fun activities and snacks for the kids, fresh vegetables to share, and plenty of good vibes. Come out, relax, connect with neighbors, and help us celebrate one of our final community gatherings of the season.
"We look forward to seeing everyone in the garden for an evening of music, community, and good times. Bring the family, bring a chair, and come enjoy the evening with us."
Community Clean Sweep – August 9, 2026
Join Rooted In Community Development Corporation (RICDC) on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 11am until 2:30pm at the corner of Cadillac and Shoemaker on Detroit's eastside, for our Community Clean Sweep as we work together to beautify our neighborhood. Volunteers will be cleaning street curbs and removing litter and debris along Shoemaker Street from Pennsylvania Street to Hurlbut Street, covering approximately two blocks of our community. We encourage neighbors, families, and community partners to join us as we work side by side to create a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful neighborhood for everyone. Together, we can make a lasting difference—one block at a time.
"We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who joins us in making a difference, and we offer a special thank you to Ms. Edwards for partnering with Rooted In Community Development Corporation in this collaborative effort to beautify our neighborhood. Together, we are building a stronger, cleaner, and more connected community—one block at a time."
